Marianna Masadi – Rhythmus einer Nacht

Latest releases

The German-Greek singer Marianna Masadi is the epitome of the modern young woman and at the same time musical ambassador of the homeland of her ancestors.  As artist she closes a gap that was once filled by exceptional figures such as Vicky Leandros or Nana Mouskouri, who has now been vacant for years.

Marianna’s music combines Mediterranean joie de vivre, the desire to dance and celebrate and an irrefutable optimism. With her great voice, the hot-blooded temperament and her attractive, very feminine charisma, she attracts everyone’s attention oneself.

Marianna’s great musical talent was also recognized very early on by Mikis Theodorakis. The legendary Greek composer, writer and politician, who was, until his death in September 2021, her discoverer and promoter and he encouraged her to become “the new voice of the of Greece”. Marianna is now fully committed to follow this mandate.

With her single ‘Kalinichta’ and the accompanying video clip she transmits the Flair of Mykonos in sun-drenched tones and atmospheric images. “Kalinichta” translates as ‘good night’ and signals: This evening is so beautiful, it must not come to an end. ‘Cause now the perfect moment to celebrate the night and its twinkling stars with as many happy people. The joyful, liberating lyrics of the song, which concise chorus, framed by fiery bouzouki sounds: the warming sun of the south. ‘Kalinichta’ was written by Kristina Bach (u.a. Helene Fischer, Michelle, Jeanette Biedermann). Producer of the song is ‘J.O.D. Music’ (Johannes Oerding, Glasperlenspiel, Vanessa Mai), one of the best addresses in Germany for contemporary pop music.

With her single “Syrtaki” she combines typical Greek sounds, love to the music and, last but not least, her fiery temperament with the German stability and the straightforwardness of the German people. Marianna Masadi brings us the traces of her home and enchants us with the memory of infinite sandy beaches, carefree hours by the sea and a incomparable heartwarmth. Her Greek songs “Otan Agapas” and “Perastikos” have been written by the well-known Greek lyricist Nikos Moraitis and have been composed by Olga Koutsoulaki.

Marianna Masadi grew up on the Swabian Alb, near Stuttgart, in a vibrant Greek community. She has a German-Greek high-school degree and regularly spent her holidays in the land of their ancestors, where she got know to their culture, their music and their carefree way of life and has learned to love it. Marianna is trained in singing, piano and Ballet.

In recent times, she has been frequently present in Greek television, radio stations and top print- magazines. She can also be seen on German TV, e.g. in ‘Immer wieder Sonntags’ and ‘Schlagerspaß mit Andy Borg’ (both ARD).

Marianna´s path to a professional career

Marianna Masadi wrote her first songs at the age of 12 and composed small performances, which she liked to show to her family and soon to a wider audience, including at a Greek school event with 500 guests. Since the age of four Marianna received piano and ballet lessons and thus laid the foundation for developing her musical talent into a professional career.

It was founded by Mikis Theodorakis, the great and well-known Greek composer, writer and politician, and he predicted a promising career for her.

And he turned out to be right: In the meantime, she has demonstrated her skills and achieved high appreciation – as a singer, presenter at festivals and choreographer of traditional Greek dances, often in cooperation with leading composers and producers from Germany and Greece, wonderful songs were created, which captured the spirit and the Mediterranean atmosphere of Greece charming with her second home Germany.

More songs are currently in the works. Her dreamlike melodies are an expression of her attachment to her home countries Germany and Greece and she sings in in both languages. The Greek artist feels that she has arrived in Bavaria: “I love the enchanting region, the Bavarian cosiness and it delights me with my Greek artistic offer at concerts, events and festivals locally/nationally and internationally!”

Marianna : “For us Greeks, there is a very special word that reminds me again and again of the relaxed life here: KEFI, the fun of joy.” This joie de vivre describes quite aptly what Marianna lives and loves. Her captivating nature, her loyalty to her beloved Greece, but also the connection to the German language and culture as well as of course, the great talent as a singer and dancer.
